Heavy-Duty Anti-Slip Epoxy Flooring and Safety Demarcation for Utranazz Group
Utranazz Group is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of concrete mixers, concrete pumps, screed pumps and specialist equipment for the concrete industry. Shier Coatings was appointed to complete the refurbishment of the workshop floor at its facility in Piddington, near Bicester, Oxfordshire.
Following full mechanical diamond grinding, concrete repairs and crack repairs, the floor was primed using a 100% solids DPM epoxy primer. This created a strong, moisture-resistant foundation before the Flortex Professional epoxy coating system was installed.
A coarse-grade aluminium oxide anti-slip aggregate was incorporated throughout the finished coating. Rather than limiting the textured finish to pedestrian routes or hazard zones, the anti-slip system was applied across the entire workshop floor to provide consistent traction throughout every working area.
The client’s brief was to create an extremely safe and clearly organised workshop. The completed floor design incorporated designated toolbox areas, pedestrian walkways, segregated workshop bays, hazard zones, safety hatching and a zebra crossing positioned in front of the main workshop openings.
These highly visible safety demarcations provide clear guidance for employees and visitors, helping to separate pedestrian movement from active working areas and heavy equipment.
The combination of a durable Flortex Professional epoxy system, coarse aluminium oxide aggregate and carefully planned safety markings transformed the workshop into a safer, more organised and easier-to-maintain industrial environment.
